LOON MOUNTAIN RESORT HOSTS 6th ANNUAL MONSTER MUD RUN ON JULY 9 2016

Lincoln, NH – With the 2015/16 winter season officially over and mud season coming on strong, Loon Mountain Resort is busily preparing for the 6th Annual Monster Mud Run on July 9, with registration for the event now open.

Regarded as one of the toughest obstacle course races in New Hampshire, this mischievously muddy 5k will challenge runners with more than 20 mucky obstacles spread out across steep ski trails and impenetrable White Mountain forest. Along the way, racers will drag snowmaking hoses through the mud, crawl beneath barbed wire, and test themselves in other fun and exciting ways as they negotiate obstacles with names like Snowmaking Boot Camp, Sadistic Slalom, and the Plunge of Paul Bunyan. This year’s race will also feature a free Mini Monsters race for kids, with pint-sized obstacles for children 13 & under. (more…)

Danny Poirier edges teammate Mathieu Morin in historic battle

PHOENIX, N.Y. (Apr. 4, 2016) – While Mother Nature did her absolute best to prevent several major winter events from taking place here in the northeast, the New York-based Ingles Performance snocross team battled the elements and came away with another Pro Open championship.

Quebec veteran Danny Poirier was dedicated to capturing his sixth regional points title in 2016, yet his fellow countryman and teammate almost took it away. Mathieu Morin was back in top form last winter, riding as fast and consistently as he did in 2011 when he won the ECS title. In the final tally after six weekends of racing (three races were canceled due to a lack of snow), Poirier edged Morin by a mere point to secure the crown. It was easily one of the closest battles in series history. (more…)

CLARKSBURG, Mass. (April 4, 2016) – In one of the closest Pro class championship battles in series history, Quebec native Danny Poirier overcame a number of mechanical issues and a hard-charging teammate to record his sixth career title, as East Coast Snocross (ECS) concluded an abbreviated yet highly competitive 2016 racing season.

Poirier, of St. Theodore, edged Mathieu Morin by the narrowest of margins after 11 Pro Open finals were contested. The Ingles Performance/Ski-doo riders battled side-by-side all season, with Poirier sweeping the finals in Bangor, Maine, and Morin notching a sweep of his own at the season finale at Pittston Farm. Congratulations to our six-time champion and his teammate for their historic one-two finish in points. It was a thrill to see the great battles, and we hope to see more in 2017.
