Welcome to the Maine Northeast Snow Report for December 2nd
Current Conditions at Sunday River – 2 Lifts Open with 19 Trails Open
Current Conditions at Sugar Loaf – 1 Lifts Open with 12 Trails Open
Driving up the Access Road this morning at about quarter-to-six I noticed snowcats spread out across the hill for the first time this season; with all the snow produced during our last snowmaking push, it has certainly kept our grooming team busy. It’s a tremendous team effort to get a trail open. In fact, Narrow Gauge alone will probably have had more than 50 employees work on it from grass to race-ready. From the summer crew to snowmakers, to groomers, the competition crew and the patrollers, cheers to all of the dedicated employees that have worked together to make this season a success.
Last night our snowmakers were given a well-deserved break due to warmer temperatures and unfavorable winds. However, our grooming team was out on all of our open terrain getting ready for new layer of Mother Nature’s finest to be added on today–plus pushing out all of the snow whales on Narrow Gauge.
