MARCH DELIVERS OVER 46 INCHES NEW SNOW IN JUST 14 DAYS AT WILDCAT

March has always had a reputation for big snow storms, and this year that is proving to be true. In the first two weeks of March, Wildcat Mountain in Pinkham Notch has seen over 46 inches of new snow. The majority of this new snow has fallen in two large Nor’Easter storms with one totaling 18 inches, and the second at 24 inches, just one week apart. To date, that accounts for one third of their seasonal snowfall total, which is currently at 160 inches for the season with over a month and a half to go. Wildcat will try to remain open until May. They are currently 100% open.

WILDCAT MOUNTAIN TO CELEBRATE 60 YEARS OF LIFT-SERVICED SKIING JANUARY 25 – 28

Wildcat Mountain has always been an iconic name in the ski industry, and for good reason. Incredible views of the Presidential Range, tremendous annual snowfall, high elevation, and northwestern exposure assuring a long ski season are all factors that have led to Wildcat’s long continued success over the years. It was on January 25, 1958, that the mountain would be changed forever when it opened the country’s first gondola.

This week, Wildcat Mountain is celebrating their rich history with lift ticket specials, events, and activities, from January 25 – January 28. Activities include a “lift-opening” ceremony with one of Wildcat’s original vice president’s and gm’s, Stan Judge, plus birthday cake, a historical memorabilia display, après entertainment with radio boston.com, a huge fireworks display, and more.

WILDCAT MUG CLUB RAISES OVER $5000 IN DONATIONS TO ADAPTIVE & SKI TEAM PROGRAMS

WILDCAT MUG CLUB RAISES OVER $5000 IN DONATIONS TO ADAPTIVE & SKI TEAM PROGRAMS

The Wildcat Pub at Wildcat Mountain is home to a highly sought-after Mug Club. Like most, the mug club membership is limited and the waiting list to join is long. Members receive a handmade mug and enjoy various membership perks. At the end of each year, members are offered the chance to renew their membership for an annual fee. Members who do not renew forfeit their mug, which is then available to a potential new member.

This year, with only a few open spaces and extremely high-demand, Wildcat decided to get creative and support two great organizations while filling the remaining spaces. On November 24, Wildcat announced that they would be accepting the highest bids for the remaining spaces, with one caveat. Every dollar over $55 (the Mug Club renewal rate) per bid would be donated to AbilityPlus Adaptive Sports and the Wildcat Ski Team. After two weeks of bidding, Wildcat collected a total of 116 bids. 28 lucky bidders won with the lowest bid at $160, and the highest bids at $500. Due to the success & generosity of bidders Wildcat Mountain will donate just under $3000 to each organization.
